Random Addressing For a new Dali Line installation, first, click Random Address Bus in the Dali Line Addressing section. If this is an existing installation click the Random Address New Added Devices button instead. At this time the user may select to Group Devices By Type and address Maco E-Dali Peripherals onto the bus without using a standard DALI address. Ticking Enable Optical Feedback will ensure that, upon successful addressing, a device will flash for identification purposes. After clicking Random Address Bus, devices found will appear in the Device Tree to the right. Note: The Device Tree can display devices in three modes: DALI addressed devices, E-DALI addressed devices or a "Split" mode, in which both the DALI Bus and E-DALI Bus are shown.

After addressing has completed, pressing Verify Network tests the bus for problems and then flashes all addressed devices. This provides a visual cue for any potentially unaddressed devices. Press the Verify Network button again, to stop. Physical Addressing After Random Addressing has been performed, a further step can be carried out to easily rearrange devices into a desired order. This is performed by selecting the starting address and then clicking Start Addressing in the Physical Addressing box. After starting, go to the device you wish to have the address programmed to and press and hold the test switch. Commission Tool will be scanning the bus for a selected device. When the device is found, the light will extinguish and you may release the button. Commission Tool will move the selected device to the new target address and flash the light to confirm. Commission Tool will then increment the target address and resume waiting for a selected device. Simply move to the the next desired device and repeat the process. When all devices have been addressed, return to Commission Tool and click the Start Addressing button again to stop the process.

Manual Address Rearrangement If a mistake has occurred during addressing, Commission Tool offers tools for quickly resolving errors without the need to fully readdress a line. To Change an address, fill in the Current Addr box and the Change To box. Two Buttons are available for an address change. To swap two devices around, click Address Swap. To simply change, click Address Change. Note: If a change is triggered and there is already a device in the address you are changing to, the device already there will be preemptively moved to Address 63. Any devices moved to address 63 should be dealt with immdeiately. If a situation occurs where you have concurrent addresses (e.g devices at 0, 1, and 2) and you wish to make a spare place in the middle of this run at Address 1. Fill in the Address box in Add/Remove Holes and click Create Address Hole. The Devices at address 1 and 2 will be moved to 2 and 3 respectively. This will leave a bus with addresses 0, 2 and 3 used and address 1 available. This function should not be used with a full bus. To remove this "Address Hole", enter the vacant address to remove in the Address box and click Remove Address Hole. An installation with addresses 0, 2 and 3 used will have address 2 and 3 moved down to 1 and 2 respectively.

Location and Identification of Devices To locate unaddressed devices, or confirm that a device is addressed, click Broadcast Identify in the Fault Finding box. This function will flash all addressed devices. To discover the address of a single device, simply press ID 1 Device using Test Button. Commission Tool will commence scanning for a device with test button pressed. Press and hold the test button for the device you are attempting to identify. After identification, the device will flash and you may return to the computer. Commission Tool will inform you of the device address in the Debug Window. To discover the addresses of multiple devices, use the ID Devices Until Stopped, following the process outlined in the previous paragraph. Commission Tool will scan until this button is pressed, again.
