A common interface for stored product information was introduced in the latest Dali standard. As a result, the Commission Tool can query and identify product types beyond the scope of device type classification via the stored Global Trade Information Number (GTIN). ![]() The Dali Memory Tab offers a useful and informative look at the various values stored in a device's memory through the Current Values section. For installations with difficult to identify devices, we also offer the ability to program a device with a unique identifiers for "Description" and "Location" in the Write To Dali Memory section. Storage of this extra information aids the installer in quickly identifying devices. Simply click on the device you wish to program in the the Device Tree, type in your Device Description and Device Location and click Program Selected. The device will be updated with these values and the results will be instantly viewable in the Device Tree. ![]()
In this screenshot, the device at Address 8 has the comment "Yes" and is located in Room 2.023B. All devices with this Location will be located in the Room 2.023B branch. By arranging devices into easily understandable locations, we can isolate and identify devices swiftly - putting an end to the arduous task of surveying an installation, looking for the one flashing device (in identify mode).
